A few simple changes have completely transformed my bedroom into a lighter, calmer and more personal space.
A fresh coat of paint
I changed the walls from a deep dark green to the most beautiful DH Linen White from the Dulux Heritage range. It has made such a difference to the brightness of the room and instantly created a softer, more peaceful feeling.
Pressed flowers from the farm
I gathered flowers from around the farm, pressed them, and placed them in very simple brass frames. I dated each one too, which makes them feel like tiny seasonal keepsakes and brings a little piece of the garden indoors.
A little writing corner
I created a small desk area where I can sit down to write letters, notes and lists. It is such a simple addition, but it makes the room feel more useful and gives me a quiet space of my own.
Fern-shaded lamps
These beautiful lamps from OKA bring warmth, texture and a lovely connection to the outdoors. The fern shade adds a gentle, botanical touch without overwhelming the room.
My Fig & Tatin candles
I keep the Fig & Tatin scented candles from my Honey by Clodagh range on the bedside table and beside the lamps. Their fragrance makes the room feel wonderfully inviting, cosy and considered, especially in the evening.
It is amazing how a few thoughtful details, paint, lighting, scent, flowers and a practical little corner, can make a bedroom feel entirely new.
