Provencale Autumnal Tablescape
An autumn tablescape for me is a reflection of harvest and calm flourishing fields after a warm summer. The hedgerows are full of beautiful berries, the most obvious being blackberries, fields are filled with wheat and gardens with end of summer lavender – which you should pick and dry for the autumn winter months ahead.
I love earthy coloured tablecloths during the autumn – mustards, burnt orange, biscuit and browns. They are such warming colours, which creates a cosy atmosphere around a table and the skip into colder months a bit easier.
FLOWERS
I love using dried flowers, shafts of wheat and little bunches of lavender at this time of the year. You can either forage / pick them yourselves or buy them in good flower shops. Drying flowers is so easy to do – just tie them tightly together with a piece of twine and hang them upside down in a dry cool place. Bunched together and tied with twine laying on a napkin looks so beautiful. I use lavender here but I also use heather, eucalyptus or sprigs of blackberries.
