5 Ways to be Happy this Spring

Sleep
Start going to bed a little earlier so that you can catch a few extra hours of sleep. I jump into bed every night before 9PM and by 10PM I am in dreamland. I find that a good 8 to 9 hours of sleeping like a log has me springing out of bed feeling bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in the morning.
Just like regular exercise and a healthy diet, getting enough good sleep is an essential part of looking after your health. There are so many benefits for being well rested, lower stress levels, improved immunity, more energy, better focus, improved memory, better mental health, lower blood pressure and a boost in positivity!
Sunrise
Now that the sun is rising earlier, try to rise at the same time a few mornings a week. Throw on a wooly jumper and step outside. Look for the rising sun, take in the silence and stillness and think about how great it will be to be feeling happy today.
It’s so easy to wake up and immediately dread the activities ahead of you. So this practice is a really nice way to positively ease yourself into the day. It allows me to feel the potential and possibilities that are on their way and these thoughts give me an immense feeling of peace that all will be well.
Plant seeds
Watching something grow from seed is so exciting! Having a sense of responsibility and trusting the process is so with it, it is so satisfying when you finally see the vegetables and flowers. Packs of seeds only cost a couple of pounds. Read more here on how to grow your vegetables from seed.
