Colour me happy, let the fun begin!
[In In Partnership with Farrow and Ball with Farrow and Ball]
I have decided on all of the wallpaper and paint for my London home which is very exciting. I’ve gone with Farrow and Ball because I’ve used this company for years so I’m familiar with their paints and wallpaper. I love the quality, the texture, the unique styles and colours that they have.
Front Door and Kitchen Arch
This door is the first thing I see and also anyone that’s coming to my home will see. I feel like the colour of the front door is really important, it's almost a statement. I have decided to go with Deep Reddish Brown in gloss which reminds me of chocolate - it’s such a beautiful, rich and warming colour, a lovely welcome. When the door opens your eye is immediately drawn to the same colour in the arch of the kitchen, making the house feel bigger.
Living Room & Stairs
For the living room and stairs I am using a mix of beautiful wallpaper and paints from Farrow and Ball's latest Carte Blanche collection which has been beautifully curated by fashion designer Christopher John Rogers. When you enter the house, the wall immediately to the right is going to be wallpapered in the Carte Blanche Stripe that contains the colours Au Lait, Liquorice and Roasted Macadamia. This will continue to wrap around the room and all the way up the stairways right to the top, so that there is a flow in the layout of the house.
I am using the delicious liquorice paint on all the skirting, windows and window frames which picks up the liquorice strip on the wallpaper. And for the rest of the room, we will be painting the walls in the yummy nutty Roasted Macadamia.
Guest Bedroom
For the guest bedroom I have chosen another Stripe wallpaper from the Carte Blanche collection and I am so obsessed, it makes me so happy! The colours in the wallpaper are Shallot, Au Lait and Romesco (like the tasty Spanish Romesco sauce). I feel a real connection with this Farrow and Ball collection and the food inspiration behind everything that fashion designer Christopher John Rogers has created with them. I’m going to match the skirting and window frames with the pink Shallot Paint. Lucky guests and family that come to stay in this room, that’s all I’ll say.
Sitting Room
I really wanted this room to be calming so for this room I've chosen the paint colour Sardine which will be on all of the walls and the woodwork. When I look at this paint on the walls I feel like I am looking at the sea, it really reminds me of soothing water.
Study
As my sitting room and study are open plan I wanted to merge the two rooms together, to do so I’m using a beautiful deep Inchyra Blue paint on the archway and walls which is such a dreamy colour. Then when you enter into the study and turn around, you get a vibrant surprise. My library shelving will be painted in a gorgeous fun Romesco Red, I think it is going to look amazing.
Master Bedroom
In our bedroom I wanted a real calming colour so I’ve gone with Setting Plaster. This dusty pink is named after the blushing walls we often admire in newly plastered houses. It is really lovely, soft and dreamy.
Kitchen
The kitchen walls are going to be painted in the colour Cane which is a beautiful yellow mustard colour. The ceiling in this room is the lowest in the house so to make the kitchen feel a bit bigger I’m continuing the colour. I think it is going to work wonderfully against the beautiful burnt caramel tiles (view here) that will be going up too.
