It’s Time To Hit The Tiles!

I've been deeply submerged in the world of tiles over the past couple of months, I’ve had so many recommendations from so many of you regarding tiles so THANK YOU! I have found this amazing company called Ca’Pietra, they are a family owned and run business which I love. They make the most beautiful handmade tiles in lots of different colours, with an abundance of patterns and textures. I don’t know how I've managed to whittle all of the choices down but I have finally decided on the tiles that will be going in my kitchen, both bathrooms and also tiles for some flooring. I’m so excited to show you what I have chosen.

Master Bathroom Tile Choices

For the master bathroom, I’ve gone with a beautiful olive green tile the ‘Petite Porcelain Gloss Olive’. It reminds me so much of Tuscany, it is the absolute colour of the best olives that you can eat, the tile to me looks like it's edible, I love it, it makes me happy! I’ve also gone with a gorgeous white tile the Petite Porcelain Gloss White’.

I love them so much that we’re going to do the tiles from floor to ceiling. Two walls will be tiled with the olive green as I think this will bring a lovely warmness to the room and two walls in the white to bring a touch of freshness. I love the thought of waking up every morning and feeling like I'm being transported to Tuscany when I walk into the bathroom with the two contrasting colours..

Guest Bathroom

The guest bathroom is quite a small space however, I wanted to create a really magical golden hour experience for my friends and family who come to stay. There is a beautiful light that comes in through the window in the evenings so this is what inspired the golden hour theme.

I have found the most gorgeous tiles for the floor the ‘Marlborough Terracotta Arabesque Tile’ and for the walls I’ve chosen a really pretty ‘Fondant Ceramic Matt Rose Tile’. Similar to the master bathroom I’m going to be doing the tiles from floor to ceiling. In this room I think that all of that natural light will bounce off the elegant soft rose tiles and the beautiful colours of the terracotta to really create that golden hour feel.

Kitchen

For the heart of my home, the kitchen, I’ve decided on delicious caramel tiles, the ‘Avebury Ceramic Burnt Caramel Tile’. For me these are the essence of food, as I spend most of my time in the kitchen these tiles were probably the most important pick for me. I love them because they remind me of old and new.

They remind me of old fashioned french beautiful kitchens but also remind me of quite a new beautiful contemporary look. I’m planning to have white marble shelving above these tiles so I think the contrast of colours will really fit well together, creating a cosy but contemporary feel. There’s something so warming about these burnt caramel tiles and when I am in the kitchen that’s exactly the feeling that I want. That warmth, that feeling of old and new and I know I am going to love looking at these every day when I’m cooking and baking up lots of delicious dishes.
