Ok so first up is the taste of a watermelon is SO good and refreshing to eat during this hot spell we are having, which makes them easy to be part of our daily routine - fresh and delicious notes of cucumber. Watermelons are 90% water so an amazing way to keep hydrated. They are full of antioxidants and also electrolytes, such as potassium.
Watermelons do contain some vitamins and minerals but in very small amounts because of their high water content. However, its pink-red flesh means it is a good source of beta-carotene which converts to vitamin A when consumed which helps to keep our immune system, eyes and skin healthy - YAY!
They’re are so many fun ways to use Watermelons - ice pops, chunky salads, granitas and killer margaritas!
