Sicilian Meatballs with Spicy Tomato Sauce, Buttery Mash & Cavolo Nero

This is the traditional way that they make meatballs in Sicily. I mix together minced pork and ricotta with the ground beef. The pork brings flavour and juiciness and the ricotta brings a lovely lightness. This is a great freezer recipe, so make double and you can store it away. It’s nice to serve a green vegetable alongside to lighten the dish; I use cavolo nero but you could choose purple sprouting broccoli, shredded cabbage or a green salad.

Our House Favourite Carbonara

I could make this carbonara with my eyes closed (sometimes they are!). After a long day filming on ITV This Morning or writing up recipes I crave this creamy smoky peppery dish. Here’s how the evening goes... I get everything prepped ahead, and the water boiling for the pasta then I take my glass of wine with up to the bath. After a long soak, I get into my PJs and finish off the pasta. Then the fire gets lit, movie goes on and I curl up on the sofa with this bowl of heaven that makes me feel right again...

3 Bean Chilli

This three-bean vegetarian chili is a wonderfully simple, one-pot no-fuss dish.
